CIRCUIT: Dialogues in Artist Moving Image celebrates a decade of artist moving image production in Aotearoa New Zealand from 2015–2025. Focusing on the CIRCUIT’s annual commissioning programme, the publication revisits 46 films by New Zealand and international artists, each created through an extended dialogue with an international curator and commissioned by CIRCUIT.
Featuring curator essays, images, and profiles of each commissioned work, the publication also includes a new essay by CIRCUIT Director Mark Williams. Reflecting on the development of artist moving image practice in Aotearoa over the past decade, Williams traces the evolution of CIRCUIT’s international partnerships and examines their impact on the visibility
of Aotearoa moving image practice locally, nationally, and internationally.
